The Nuremburg Trials took place in... you guessed it.... Nuremburg, Germany. They started in 1945 and lasted until 1949. The Nuremburg Trials consisted of 13 separate trials in which major people involved in running the Holocaust and Nazi Germany were prosecuted. These trials brought forth new laws and were a step in the right direction towards justice, but most say it wasn't enough. Hitler unfortunately killed himself before he could be put on the stand and tried for starting everything in the first place. Instead doctors, lawyers, government officials, high ranking military personnel, and others faced questioning.
This obviously wasn't enough based on the fact that a lot of people got away with what they did and went on with their lives. Millions of people were involved with Hitler's Regime and the rules created in Nazi Germany, not nearly enough of them had to answer to what they did. But it was hard to track down every individual person that ever committed a crime during this time period.
