The burning of many books took place during this time including those by Albert Einstein and Helen Keller. Other books that were burned included ideas that were against those of the Nazi's and written by Jewish authors.
The Nazi party used propaganda as a major way to support and spread their ideas.
Hitler is appointed Chancellor by current President Hindenburg on January 30, 1933.
The first concentration camp, Dachau is opened on March 22, 1933. Just a few months after Hitler becomes Chancellor.
Nazi's were also known for their extremist ideas about race, and how to tell someone's race. They conducted my studies during this time including some about eye color, hair color, and head shape and size.
